Mac Mini

If I do have some readers I apologize for not updating in awhile. Been very busy.

Nevertheless, I bought a Mac Mini. I have been a pretty big Apple fan since buying an ipod and using the Macs at school but now I finally own one (poor college student).

Anyway I love the new mini. I mostly use it for podcasts, music and dvd's. So far so good. Unlike my old HP laptop this plays my podcasts and videos with almost no problems.

I haven't delved that deep into iLife but I love the guitar lessons. iWork is awesome my only annoyance is the converting to doc format (I have to for school) it should just save it as doc and not have to export.

My only issue is the automatic update hasn't been working. I have to figure that one out. So far though its great wish it was more powerful and competitive in price but iWork and iLife is worth the extra price.

Apple for the love of god

Update the damn mini!

Hopefully this bit of news is more than just a rumor.

Soon as the Mini is updated I will probably grab one. Though a macbook is probably a better bet.

The Onion always has a layer of truth

Shocker Microsoft is copying Apple

with retail stores during a recession. Can someone tell me who those geniuses at Microsoft are? All Gates talks about it search and Windows Live is still worse than Google or even Ask.

First Impressions of EEE PC

I believe my EEE PC purchase was an overall good one. I find it helpful for typing and doing limited internet related tasks. Very pleased. A few points:

I have skinny and long fingers so the keyboard works fine for me. Those with short or chubby fingers may look for a bigger keyboard.

The 10in screen is bit small. It is hard to look at and navigate at times but I normally do not use it long enough for that to be a problem.

Battery life is pretty good. Probably would last a lot longer if I turned off the wireless. I mostly use my ipod touch for viewing web pages on the go so that works fine. Haven't drained it myself but I haven't had to panic about it.

Linux is a bit limiting with is good since I only use it for typing and surfing. If I had the money I'd prefer a macbook air but the price is less than a forth of the macbook air.

My biggest problem with the EEE PC is that it takes to long to automatically connect ot the internet. Doing it manually all the time is a bit of an inconvenience.

Once I get to play with this guy more I will let you know but so far I am very happy.

You know when the economy is bad when...

When Microsoft is laying people off

You know the company that charges a lot of money for inferior software but since everyone uses it so were forced to use this crap.

As a moderate gamer Microsoft is my only option though I refuse to upgrade to Vista since I am sadly nerd aka I love old games like Oregon Trail.

I am happy though to hear Windows 7 beta is pretty good.

New EEE PC

So my new eee pc just arrived today. So far so good. Not a big fan of "kid linux" but otherwise so far so good.

I will play with it for a couple days see how it goes before I give a review. I'll probably wait to install Ubuntu since it looks like a bit of a pain in the ass.

Definitely will install it before I go traveling this summer.

In other news, I am thinking of expanding the scope of this blog to include other sources of entertain such as music, movies, and games.

We will see how that goes since I am pretty busy and poor my ability to update this blog consistently may be a problem.
