I believe my EEE PC purchase was an overall good one. I find it helpful for typing and doing limited internet related tasks. Very pleased. A few points:
I have skinny and long fingers so the keyboard works fine for me. Those with short or chubby fingers may look for a bigger keyboard.
The 10in screen is bit small. It is hard to look at and navigate at times but I normally do not use it long enough for that to be a problem.
Battery life is pretty good. Probably would last a lot longer if I turned off the wireless. I mostly use my ipod touch for viewing web pages on the go so that works fine. Haven't drained it myself but I haven't had to panic about it.
Linux is a bit limiting with is good since I only use it for typing and surfing. If I had the money I'd prefer a macbook air but the price is less than a forth of the macbook air.
My biggest problem with the EEE PC is that it takes to long to automatically connect ot the internet. Doing it manually all the time is a bit of an inconvenience.
Once I get to play with this guy more I will let you know but so far I am very happy.

You know when the economy is bad when...
When Microsoft is laying people off
You know the company that charges a lot of money for inferior software but since everyone uses it so were forced to use this crap.
As a moderate gamer Microsoft is my only option though I refuse to upgrade to Vista since I am sadly nerd aka I love old games like Oregon Trail.
I am happy though to hear Windows 7 beta is pretty good.

New EEE PC
So my new eee pc just arrived today. So far so good. Not a big fan of "kid linux" but otherwise so far so good.
I will play with it for a couple days see how it goes before I give a review. I'll probably wait to install Ubuntu since it looks like a bit of a pain in the ass.
Definitely will install it before I go traveling this summer.
In other news, I am thinking of expanding the scope of this blog to include other sources of entertain such as music, movies, and games.
We will see how that goes since I am pretty busy and poor my ability to update this blog consistently may be a problem.

Not to have a Chris Crocker moment but...
Leave Steve Jobs alone. Seriously, Apple will do fine without him. Shareholders should be more concerned about the lack of a netbook or a mac mini update during this bad economy then Jobs' health.
By the way, why did Asus have to put out a tablet netbook? Not that I am not happy. I have been speculating on one for a while but I already bought an Asus netbook. *Review coming. Sorry I got the cheap shipping.
Lastly, I would be interested to see how Windows 7 turns out especially if it will work with netbooks.

Quick thoughts CES and Macworld
Very happy with the new 17in Mac Pro 8GB of RAM will be huge (and expensive $1,200 for the upgrade alone)! Though its probably cheaper to just buy and install yourself. I was really hoping for bluray and quad-core processors but I new that was greedy on my part.
Otherwise, I was disappointed with the lack of iMac and especially Mac Mini updates. Hopefully that will change soon.
I'm about half way through watching Ballmers's keynote at CES. Windows 7 looks good but not as good as Apple. Since I like doing some limited gaming I am stuck with Windows. I have avoided upgrading to Windows Vista until Windows 7 comes out later this year or so.
Also the new features in iLife are massive. Especially, Garage band looks awesome with its new lessons for guitar and piano. iWork looks really good too I can't wait to try it out!
Still debating on when I will actually buy a new macbook. I might wait until Snow Leopard comes out because I am positive it will have bluray.

New Hard Drive
Well I will admit to my readers that I am poor college student and unable to enjoy the new tech toys as much as I would like or should. However, I finally came across some extra money and bought a new hard drive for my three year old laptop, a HP Pavilion ze2000.
I am a music junkie so I had to use an external hard drive for all my music. Unfortunately, my laptop only has two USB ports so iTunes looses those songs and I keep having to reload them every time either one of my iPods crash and need a reboot.
Well my new 32 GB iPod touch crashed when I tried to sync it so I had to go through the long process of reloading all my music.
Interesting, this is the second time this has happened to my touch and I have only had it for a couple of months. While my older 80 GB classic has only done this once in two years.
Anyway, so I got a good deal on Newegg for a 320 GB hard drive and 1 GB piece of RAM for my laptop all for $100 and free shipping.
I will write a review of both soon as I get them.
Next on my list is to buy the ASUS eee PC 1000 and a new monitor. Luckily Newegg has the ASUS for $75 less than Amazon. I will by the ASUS and choose a Monitor in the next week and a half or so (when financial aid comes in as I will use them both for school).
